As I stated in my last blog, our next major stop was at my
Uncle David and Aunt Jeri Lee’s house in South Fork, Colorado. He was still finishing construction on his
house so we all slept in the upstairs of his garage.
David took us on this four-wheel drive tour up Cinnamon
Pass. One of the scariest parts of this
adventure was that David had to rent a four-wheel drive vehicle, so David
didn’t really know how well the car would perform.
At some points my mom, my sister, Erika, and I thought we
might die. The road was narrow enough for only one car.
The hairpin turns close to the edge of the cliff were also
frightening.
But parts of the drive were gorgeous.
Erika and I even wrote our names in the snow.
Our next major stop was to my Uncle Mike and Aunt Barbara’s
house in Bakersfield, California. On the
way we stopped at Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon and Four Corners.
For stories on these adventures check back tomorrow for Part
Three of The Road Trip
