We finally arrived in Bakersfield, California to visit my
Uncle Mike and Aunt Barbara. The first night there we relaxed by going to my
first and only drive-in movie. We saw
“Men in Black”. I had to crop my sister,
Erika, out of this picture because she wasn’t too excited about getting her
picture taken.
The next day we set out for Sequoia National Park. My mom was trying to explain to me how large
the sequoia trees were, but of course being a teenager I didn’t believe
it. When we got there I was amazed. The trees were huge! I especially liked the tree you could climb
on with its roots exposed.
The last day we were in Bakersfield we attempted to spend
the whole day in Hollywood. Doing the
whole Mann’s Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, search for star’s houses
and Rodeo Drive thing. The problem was Erika
took three hours to get ready because she thought she would get discovered (to
be a model or actress) and had to look perfect.
Even though Erika took a long time to get ready we still got to see
everything we wanted to see.
The Road Trip: Part Five continues tomorrow with the drive
up the coast of California.
